We purchased a Comfortaire Cerulean queen size
mattress from Nationwide Mattress, after
spending two days poring over reviews on
different types and brands of bedding. We
noticed so many positive reviews on Nationwide
that we were somewhat skeptical, but decided to
take the plunge. The reviews were true. This is
one company that understands what customer
service should be. The ordering process was very
straightforward, they didn't try to talk us into
a more expensive model, they answered all of our
questions, and made us feel comfortable with
their company and Comfortaire as well. We
received the bed three days later. It took about
an hour to modify our existing platform bed and
assemble the mattress, and we've been enjoying a
good night's sleep ever since. We highly

I shopped around for quite a while before
deciding on Nationwide Mattress, and I couldn't
ask for for better customer service. I had a
warranty issue that was resolved faster than I
expected. I would definitely buy from Richard
again. I received everything I ordered for the
Cerulean Comfortaire Eastern King and it was
delivered on time as promised. Who knew how easy
it is to ship a bed in a bunch of boxes? This is
how you run a business. Actually like you want
to "BE" in business. Caring for your customers

I purchased my second Comfortaire mattress, a
Nationwide Vista, about six weeks ago. My first
purchase, a Cerulean, just over four years ago
was such a good experience, I just had to come
back to Nationwide when we needed another
mattress. The first mattress is still as good as
new and I expect the new one to be just as good.
I like the Nationwide Vista particularly because
of the latex option. I find it cooler for
sleeping, and the sleeping is great.

A year and 2 months ago we ordered the Cerenity
Classic after buying 3 other types of mattresses
in our search for something comfortable and
affordable and not being anywhere near
satisfied. One being over $1,000.00 and a best
seller. What a disappointment. Richard at
Nationwide was extremely helpful in guiding us
to a better choice--Thank you!
We received the bed within 10 days of ordering
and while unpacking it began to panick. This was
not the bed we ordered but was a step up.
Immediately we called Richard and he verified
the mistake. To our relief he did not say to
send it back but rather to keep it at no
additional cost.
We love our bed, have had no problems so far and
do not expect to but if we do we will call
Nationwide with confidence.

This review is long overdue.
After much research I purchased a Comfortaire
mattress a few years ago from Nationwide. My
husband and I agree that it is the most
comfortable bed we have ever owned.
What is most impressive about Nationwide is the
fantastic customer service! Both Richard and
Mark are extremely knowledgeable, friendly,
responsive, and helpful. It's refreshing to deal
with a company who knows how to treat its
customers.
Ordering was easy, and delivery was quick. When
I had a problem with our pump, Richard handled
the issue, and I received a replacement pump
very quickly. When I needed advice on a
replacement foundation, Mark told me that I
should buy a hollow box platform and that I
shouldn't let anyone talk me into buying an
expensive boxspring. I'm sure his advice saved
me a lot of money.
I highly recommend Nationwide for their
unmatched customer service and their great
products.

Extemely fast shipping which was needed since I
had back surgery scheduled and needed the

I was very suspect buying a mattress over the
internet however Richard Alfano was the most
helpful and courteous person I have spoken with
concerning mattresses. I purchased an adjustable
bed with a memory foam mattress for my 93 year
old father and it was the best thing I could

company because it means not having to go out

My wife and I bought the Comfortaire Celesta and
I have to send this out because these guys at
nationwidemattress.com are so good and their
customer service so wonderful they might be the
most professional ever its unbelievable. Every
turn through our process of selecting and
purchasing our bed Richard (owner) / Mark
(salesperson) were there. They respond to
emails/phone calls promptly and they actually
care (rare these days) they have integrity, they
are smart/knowledgeable and honest (even more
rare these days) and if any problem arises they
fix it fast! I am so impressed with them I

I am a many time over internet shopping vet, and
I had to pop back on Epinions to leave a prop
for Richard and the crew at Nationwide Mattress.
Not only did our recent order arrive well
packed, precisely as ordered. We had our new bed
on our front porch in ONLY THREE DAYS!! And this
is in the prime Christmas shopping & shipping
season too!
We love the Comfortaire, I was busily working on
an assignment and my wife couldn't wait for my
help in assembling it. As it turns out, she
didn't need me anyway. The instructions are
concise, the process logical and in less than 15
minutes she was gleefully squealing from the
other room!
Oh sure, we've saved our packing materials and
the boxes in the basement for our 90 day free in
home trial period to expire, but I can tell you

Ordered a cal.King Celesta premium for $2499.00
and it was delivered within a week. Faster than
we expected. It took a couple extra weeks for
the free sheets and pillows, but it was worth
it. Easy ordering process and quick delivery.
Even though it seems like a lot of money it's
worth every penny. My wife and I both love the
adjustable feature. If you're like me and
getting older (50's) and your body is breaking
down then you owe it to yourself to try this
bed. Great bed and I would recommend it to
anyone.

I purchased a Queen size Dual control Cerulean
in April 2003 and it is the best mattress I have
ever owned. I have had to deal with 2 issues. A
leaking mattress, which was replaced FREE last
year and the air pump went bad and is being
replaced for FREE. I love a company that stands
by their product, and when I get a bigger house
with a bigger bedroom, I'm getting the king
size.
I would recommend dealing with this company, on
just the customer service.

I just have to say this was one of the most
pleasurable on-line shopping experiences I have
ever had. When you look up outstanding Customer
Service in the dictionary you should see David
and Richard’s name. David took the time to
answer all of my questions, and make suggestions
as to which mattress would be best for me.
Richard helped me resolve a resolve a delivery
scheduling problem because of a family vacation.
Our Nationwide Vista Mattress by Comfortaire was
delivered exactly when I was told it would be,
and has proved to be even better than I could
have imagined. I have some severe back problems
and was having problems sleeping. The only
problem I find thus far, is that my new mattress
is so comfortable that not only am I sleeping,
but I’m tending to stay in bed a lot longer.
Happily, I’m adjusting very well to this

I am just writing to confirm what so many others
have said here. Working with Richard D. was a
genuine pleasure. I had endless questions, and
must have gone back and forth half a dozen times
over the details of what mattress to choose. I
kept expecting him to finally lose patience, but
he never even came close to doing so. On the
contrary, he was just as helpful and positive
for the last question as the first.
I was particularly concerned about the new fire
retardancy laws for California, and the
chemicals that might be in all new mattresses
bound for California. Richard helped me research
the question, even calling Comfortaire to find
out exactly what method they use to meet the
requirements. It turns out they use the best,
non-chemical approach -- Kevlar.
Anyway, the joy of working with them made my bed
that much better.

We have had our Geo Vista mattress for 3 years.
We noticed the foam topper was getting softer
and softer until it became uncomfortable to
sleep on. I contacted Nationwide Mattress and
spoke to a customer service representative. He
said he would have to check our order. That
night I received an e-mail from Richard, who was
actually out of the country, but still managed
to find the time to help us with our problem. He
said he would order a new foam topper
immediately. He was as good as his word, and in
a very short time we received the replacement
foam topper and we were able to sleep
comfortably again. Thank you Richard for the
wonderful customer service.

I purchased he Cerulean mattress in November
after reading all of the positive reviews and
probably like everyone else had doubts. I really
love the mattress but a month ago I realized the
mattress was losing air. I have to admit, when I
emailed Richard about the problem I thought I
would never here from him, but I no sooner
pressed the send button when minutes later my
phone rang!!! He explained to my husband how to
determine the problem and told him to call the
next day. He determined it was the pump and is
shipping out a new one. I have to tell you, I
have never had such outstanding customer service
anywhere. If you have any doubts about ordering
a mattress from Richard, please do not hesitate.
I would recommend him and the mattress of course

Nationwide. Truly was a good experience. We had
trouble with the pump, and of course it was a
weekend night. Richard took the time to call on
Saturday evening, told us how to "fix" the
problem for the weekend and made sure we had a

These guys are great! I ordered my second
mattress from them today and somehow accidently
hit the order button twice. I realized this when
I got two order confirmations (which I got right
after placing the order). I immediately began
typing an e-mail to explain the error but before
I even finished it - literally less than 5
minutes after placing my order - I got a call
from Nationwide asking if I had made a mistake.
They immediately canceled the duplicate order.
We have used Comfortaire mattresses for 7 years
now and would never buy anything else...from
anyone else!

I called Nationwide in 2003 to order a
Comfortaire bed. Richard was our salesman. He
was thorough, able to answer all our questions
and professionally pleasant and easy to work
with.
Would you believe the bed arrived on our front
porch on the day it was to have been shipped?
We had no problem until last night when the Air
Control System failed to work.
I called Nationwide today and again got Richard
on the phone.
Guess what? He was just as courteous to fix our
problem as he was to sell us the bed in the
first place. He immediately checked our records
and ordered the new pump.
It was still under warranty and our new one
should be here in about a week. All we have to
do is send the broken one back. That's how to
run a thriving business.
Celenia Bed Just Received On Time by

I received my Celenia bed today on time as
promised. Assembling the bed was fairly straight
forward. The only confusion came when I unrolled
the foam topper and discovered it appeared to be
significantly smaller than the space it fits in.
It also had some ridges from the way it had been
rolled up.
It was about 8 PM California time, but I called
and was quickly connected with Richard, who
explained that the foam had probably simply
gotten hot during shipment and would need some
time to expand. He made me feel very comfortable
by saying if it did not look right by tomorrow
night to call back and they would replace it at
no charge. So far, service here has been
exceptional as noted by other posters.
I tried the bed briefly and it feels pretty
good, but my wife is not very sure. We shall see
what we think after a few days, and I will post
again.

I couldn't be more pleased with Nationwide
Mattress as a vendor. They were extremely
courteous, knowledgeable, and honest. I actually
ended up returning my purchased mattress, but
have to say that I still would strongly
recommend them as a vendor. They went above and
beyond to make my experience with them a
positive one.
I actually ended up dealing with Richard, who is
the President of Nationwide. He was incredible
to work with. Unfortunately, my wife and I just
didn't care for the feel of an air mattress like
we thought we would (Comfortaire has a 90 day
return policy, unlike other mattresses), and
when I called Richard to discuss returning it,
he completely understood and made the return as
easy as it could be. I will say that the
mattress was the same feel as the Select Comfort
brand we had tried in the stores, and quite a
bit cheaper to boot. We just ended up preferring
a traditional mattress.
I was leery about ordering something like this
over the internet, but I can honestly recommend
Nationwide as a top notch, dependable, place to
buy from. They were fantastic to deal with!

To my astonishment, Richard responded to my
first e-mail in less than 10 minutes. He
answered my questions in a professional manner,
so I ordered the Cerulean Queen. It arrived on
the day he promised.
After the first night, my wife exclaimed,
"This bed is absolutely perfect. No hip pain. I
can't believe it."
There is really only one standard for a good
bed; how well does it conform to the contours of
the body without sagging. The more it conforms,
the less pressure it exerts on any particular
point, and the less discomfort it creates. Only
a waterbed offers a larger contact patch, but it
also presents some serious shortcomings not
shared by airbeds.

Have No Fear!
Nationwide Mattress gave me the best customer
service, both when I bought the bed, and when I
decided to return it. Richard and David at
Comfortaire made the return of the bed easy.
They were helpful and kept me informed. I
received a full refund . . . and, to be honest,
I was worried about getting a full refund
because I had bought the bed "on-line". So, Have
No Fear, this is an honest company that stands
behind what they say.

Wonderful experience purchasing 2 Celenias from
Richard D. Great customer service. We had a
water bed that had sprung a leak, and Richard
did everything possible to help expedite our
order. We also placed an order for my 85 year
old mother who had not slept in her bed for
several years - spent her nights in a recliner
because of back aches. I'm a very careful
person, and I constantly research. I called
Richard so many times with questions, and he was
consistently friendly and helpful. When I

My wife and I ordered a queen size comfortaire
mattress from nationwide mattress last month.
The shipping stated it may take a few weeks to
be delivered, yet 3 days after ordering we had
our bed. Once we received the bed we had a
question about the warranty. I emailed the
company and within hours had a response. I can
not give this company enough recognition for
their great customer service. My wife and I
emailed the company several times with questions
and comments and each time we were responded to
by Richard the same day. I had researched
several companies before trying this bed and
this is the only company that I found was honest
and straight forward. I would recommend to

SHOP NO WHERE ELSE! Nationwidemattress was the
only company to get back to me in a very
speedily manner and I have yet to hear from
other Comfortaire dealers to date. I just placed
my order for a new bed. I had many many
questions, I was skeptical about a SALES person
calling me, So I decided to correspond via
email. All my questions were answered very
quickly. What I was most impressed by that fact
that when explaining my situation, Richard
suggested the GeoVista set along with an
adjustable base, knowing he could have very
easily told me to purchase the most expensive
priced set they sold, but with careful
consideration of my specific needs, he told me
the GeoVista and the adjustable base was the
best option for me. I am excited about my new
bed and am awaiting it's arrival. I will post

We have had our Box Top mattress for over a year
now and love it. It has been the most
comfortable sleep we have received in years. We

We bought a Celesta Premium bed from
Nationwide.com and dealt with Richard D. The
whole experience has been very positive. Richard
D. was helpful in making the bed selection and
answered all my questions fully. He was easy to
contact through the 800 number. I had done quite
a bit of research about various beds prior to
calling and had specific questions. He was very
professional and picked up quickly that I had
done my homework. His experience helped very
much. Our bed arrived in just about 10 days and
went together easily. We were kept well informed
by email about the shipping, etc. We have been
using it now for over a week and love it! Some
of the aches and pains I had been having are

five times with various issues relating to the

My husband and I bought the Celenia in January
2005 and found that the bed wasn't right for us.
However, I was so impressed the level of
Customer Service offered by Nationwide that I
felt compelled to write a review. I have never
taken the time to write a review before this one
that is how satisfied I am with Nationwide.
Internet deals are often a risk but Richard is
operating a business that prides itself on
Customer Satisfaction. When we returned our bed,
we followed the instructions that were given to
us and did not have any problems getting our
refund check in the mail in less then a week.

After experiencing lighting damage to our airbed
pump, my insurance company required a letter
from the manufacturer concerning the
irrepairability of the unit. I contacted Richard

and courteous. I found him to be very helpful in
selecting a mattress as he took the time to work
with me, as though he were working for me rather
than Nationwide Mattress. I told him this was a
Christmas surprise for my wife and he busted his
hump to get it out that day. It took 5 days to
arrive at my house in Maryland. It was the
correct order with nothing missing and
everything worked! The mattress feels like a
dream. It was a snap to set up. I needed no
special accessories or linens. My wife likes it

Although we've sold a car online through eBay,
this was by far our largest e-purchase to date
and we are completely satisfied. Our new Celenia
king-size mattress from Comfortaire is just as
advertised, arrived in perfect shape, was easy
to setup and provides the comfort and
customization that my wife and I sought for our
different firmness preferences (see our separate
review of the mattress). While delivery was
delayed due to the manufacturer's wait for air
pumps to arrive from a supplier, we still
received our order within the 2-3 week time
frame quoted us by Richard D. at Nationwide, who
was a pleasure to work with and refused to
oversell or pressure us. He was also very
helpful in responding to our inquiries about the
pump delay and pulled some strings to move our
order higher up the list and speed delivery.

My experience with Nationwide mattress began
back in 2000.
I spotted their website in search for a air
mattress and in comparison to the other sights
they had the best bang for the buck. I was leery
in making such a major purchase over the
internet so I sent a e-mail to Nationwide it was
immediately answered and followed up with a
phone call by Richard, who put me to ease and
answered all my questions. I ordered a Cal King
Cerulean and the mattress was promptly delivered
and was every thing it was advertised to be. We
have been sleeping comfortably for 4yrs . This
year our mattress developed a slow leak which
can happen and I notified Richard. It was as if
he were sitting by his computer waiting to help
me. He promptly took care of the problem,
followed it up with a phone call, and in a wink
of an eye we were sleeping like babies again. I
would, and do ,recommend Nationwide to any one
looking for a mattress. More businesses should
follow Nationwide's example in customer

Took a long time for me to get around to writing
this review, but wanted to make sure I was happy
with my purchase. Shipping speed, courtesy, and
above-all accuracy ... highest marks possible.
Shopped all the online merchants and found
Nationwide to be competitive with other dealers
on the king-size Cerulean mattress I was
interested in. They had an online special for
free Comfortaire pillows with mattress purchase.
To make long story short, ended up with 2 orders
on my credit card ... one with pillows, one
without. A quick phone call to Richard
straightened everything out before shipping to
Indiana. Very courteous and didn't make me feel
foolish for my mistake.
I, too, was worried about making such a large
purchase with 'unknown' entities online, but
have no qualms whatsoever about recommending
this online merchant. It is past the 90 day free
trial period, happy with comfort of mattress,
AND would do it over again.

I have to say that I am amazed at how many
people have commented on this Nationwidemattress
Company. Other online stores and retail stores
for that matter should learn from here. My
husband and I bought an air mattress a few years
ago and now it is time for my kids to get new
beds. They don't want air controlled beds. They
have been living abroad and raved about their
rubber latex beds and won't sleep on anything
else. I cannot tell you how thrilled my husband
was to see that the nationwide company just
opened up a new store and it is all latex beds!
I know my kids will be thrilled and they can
order when they arrive without any worries. I
haven't seen any reviews but I think this store
is brand new. Has anyone tried a latex
foreverbeds (that is the stores web site and bed
name)and if you have can you tell me about it ?

arrived as promised.
Well, things happen, and after two years the air
bladder on my side developed a slow leak. I
contacted Richard, he asked me to test if it was
the bladder or the pump (to make sure we
replaced the right part). It was the bladder &
when I told Richard, a new air bladder was on my
doorstep in a matter of days! NO CHARGE!!! As
other's here have said, it's the service that
makes Nationwide Mattress stand head and
sholders above the rest!!

Richard at nationwidemattress.com (NWM) (as well
as the owner) is a stand up, A-1 business
person! PERIOD! Without going into the boring
details I had purchased 2 mattresses from NWM
and I had some problems with my selection. He
assured me that the manufacturer and his company
would give me a full refund had I not been
completely satisfied. After several attempts by
the manufacturer to correct the issue as well as
giving me some personal calls, we both came to
the conclusion that this system was not going to
work for my situation. They sent pre-paid return
tags and within 1 week of their arrival/return I
had a refund check in my hand signed by the
owner of NWM (and it cleared the bank!) I wish
this would have worked out because this is the
type of company and people I would have no
problem earning a buck from me!
I even tried to recruit Richard into real estate
because we need his ethics in this industry.
Maybe we will cross paths in the future,
Richard(s)...
Just posted a review on the Celenia but really
wanted to post about Nationwidemattress.com. We
decided to return our mattress after about a
month and had worked with Richard. He was
helpful throughout the process and pleasant to
work with.
He advised us to be sure the mattress was clean
and sent instructions on how to return it and we
had no issues at all. Received the check last
week for the full purchase price.

After shopping around for a mattress we
eventually decided on the Comfortaire. We wanted
a mattress that would allow us to adjust the
firmness on each side, and our current
innerspring mattress was sagging dramatically
and causing me back pain daily, and I'm in my
20s. The Comfortaire was much cheaper than the
Select Comfort mattress and had many great
reviews. We decided on that one, and went with
NationwideMattress who had a good price and
excellent service. They give you personal
attention over the phone, and it seems as if we
all speak to the same person, who really knows
his mattresses. It arrived very quickly on the
day he said it would and was not hard to set up.
It comes with a great guarantee, but we didn't
need to use it. We've had the bed for about 6
months and just love it. I recommend both the
product and the store.
This review is not about the quality of the
product - I recently relocated to London and the
bed is still in the storage container so I had
no chance to actually sleep on it. I want to
comment the excellent service that I received
from the sales rep, Richard. He organized and
pushed to get my rush order through which was
filled in a week's time. I really had my doubts
that the company will be able to deliver such a
last minute order but I take my hat off for
Richard - he listened, understood, followed
through and it came the day before my belongings
were picked up by the moving company.

I was very impressed by all the positive
experiences people reported after doing business
with Nationwide Mattress and Richard. So after
doing my research and deciding he also had the
best deal on what sounded like the best
mattress, I decided to order the King Sized
Cerulean. It arrived as promised and we found
the set up to be quite easy, though it does take
two people. Richard encouraged us to use our
existing foundation as the base with a plywood
overlay and it worked just fine. It only took us
two nights to each find our personal comfort
level and since then have had little need of the
pump, however, if you do want to adjust the
firmness, it only takes a few seconds so any
noise is no big deal. Anyway, I promised Richard
I would give a positive report if he and his
company lived up to their promises, so here it
is! Go for it, you can't go wrong with this
company or this bed.

Buy with confidence at Nationwide Mattress. I
contacted Richard to let him know that I wasn't
completely satisfied with the bed (King Cerulean
HP) and that I wanted to return it. He promptly
replied with a return authorization number and
instructions. After a few more weeks, when it
was convenient for me, I returned the bed. I
dropped the bed off at FedEx to be shipped by
ground on Monday, and I received a check for a
full refund by the end of the week.

I didn't get very far. They advertise that they
are open until 1AM CST. I tried to call at
6:45PM CST, and found out that this is not true.
There is an answering service, but as he said,
"no, it's not really true that they are there

We spent about a month shopping for airbeds. We
went to Select Comfort and tried some on the
show room and visited many online places but
when we read all the positive reviews about
Nationwide we decided to call them. Richard was

our order. We received our bed earlier than
expected. It was very easy setting up, about 45
minutes from box to completion. We have been
sleeping on air for a week now and love it! No
more pressure points. My husband can have the

I placed my order online with Nationwide
mattress and had my confirmation receipt back to
me within an hour or so. Within a few days, I
received notice that the item had shipped and I
had it that very same day. I had some initial
confusion with the operation of the pump on the
Cerulean, but Richard and Nationwide Mattress
was extremely helpful in sorting it all out.
Unfortunately, I did not like the mattress and
had to return it. It was a very easy process
and, as promised, Nationwide Mattress sent me a
refund within 24 hours after receiving my
mattress. This is a very good company to mail
order from and if you have any qualms about
doing so, they are not necessary. Great service.
Richard really knows what he is
talking about and gave good advice to me as I made
the decision about my purchase. I am very happy with

Nationwide Mattress was not at
fault for my purchase being delayed. The first bed
that was delivered to the trucking company had a
bent frame. The trucking company refused to accept
it and rightly so. I would not have accepted a bent
frame on any bed much less an adjustable bed. The
frame must be perfect for the bed to adjust
properly. I'm sure the bed left the factory in good
condition but was mishandled at the warehouse. The
mattress also was damaged in several places. It
looked like the forklift had pierced the fabric
which was torn and pushed back revealing the
mattress foam. The tear was very large. I would not
accept the mattress. As of right now, I have a
perfect adjustable bed and I am waiting for a new
mattress which is supposed to come tomorrow, the
14th of January. I ordered the bed the end of
November, around the 23rd. The whole process was not
as horrible as it could have been if it had not been
for the owner of Nationwide Mattress. He kept me in
the loop the whole time with e-mails and phone
calls. Unlike some companies where you can't get
anyone to return your calls, he takes the opinion of
his customers seriously and acts accordingly. I
wouldn't hesitate to purchase from him again if I
